If you are looking for a way to help people in need and witness first hand the results of your giving, consider volunteering with Meals on Wheels. We rely on dedicated volunteers to carry out our mission and we always have a need for volunteers. For a small commitment of a few hours each week, you can make a huge difference in the lives of our homebound citizens. Your time is a precious gift and it can make an impact in our community. The gratification you receive is priceless.
Our volunteers, who make the wheels turn, package and deliver the meals five days a week, Monday through Friday, holidays excepted. Deliveries are made mid-day.
We have over 100 regular volunteers who help package and deliver meals to our clients. Drivers and deliverers are paired and assigned a regular, well-diagrammed route consisting of 12-20 deliveries. Drivers donate the use of their car and fuel expenses. They must have a valid driver’s license, appropriate auto insurance coverage and sign a liability waiver. Packers are needed from 9:30 to 11 AM
Drivers & Deliverers are needed from 11:15-1 PM
Once a week, once a month, once in a while…whether you’re able to volunteer on a regular basis or “on-call”, we would love to have you be part of Pasadena Meals on Wheels. You tell us what works best for you and we will try to accommodate you as best we can. Not free in the middle of the day? Perhaps you would like to donate your talent or expertise as an in-kind donation.

Our volunteers provide so much more than a meal. We provide human contact and a safety net especially for those living alone. They serve as a critical link by providing a sense of security, the assurance that someone is checking on them every Monday through Friday and that family will be contacted if there is any concern. Giving their time as well as their vehicles, our volunteers help ease the loneliness and isolation a client may feel. Our volunteers truly care. They bring warm smiles, kind words and friendly interest. Many times one of our volunteers is the only person our homebound seniors will see or talk to during the day.
Your generous donation of time can mean the difference between a senior living independently or having to enter institutional care long before they truly need it.
